In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in San Francisco; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

I personally don't think this place was that good. We ordered a variety of noodle dishes and rice plates. The only good things were the pop corn chicken and rice plates. Don't even get the noodles. There were different types of noodles, Japanese ramen, Taiwanese bruised beef noodle, Thai noodle soup. All were the same type of noodle. Not only that, the noodle had clumps and some were still hard. The flavor was just not there either. Rice dishes were the saving grace as they were decent. Drinks were okay but service was good. We requested to have world cup turned on and they turned it on even tho they had to sign up for free trial to get it on.

The beef noodle soup was a standout! Highly recommend this spot, quite authentic Taiwanese cuisine.

Casual, fun and cute weekday type of restaurant. The fried pork chop was nicely fried and crispy. The chiken leg w/ curry was flavorful. Reasonable prices and attentive service. Artisticly made boba or fruit drinks. My favorite thing was the freshly made sweet tofu. I will definitely come back!

Cute spot with a wide selection. Thereβs sit down service or you can order on a screen for takeout. Restaurant was clean and decor was nice. Service was friendly, but a bit slow, mainly because there was only one server. I had the seafood Singapore laksa (my fave) spaghetti and it was delicious. I also had the watermelon green tea smoothie, which was pretty good and refreshing. Iβd definitely return.

Weβve been hearing about teawood for a while and given our experiences in Taiwan, weβve been really looking forward to eating there. It wasnβt crowded as we went early around 5:30 pm. I ordered the beef noodle soup and my wife ordered the minced pork over rice and added an egg. My soup was very large and had generous portions of beef and noodles. The broth was dark and intense in a good way, I liked it very much but the minced pork with rice came out and the minced pork was cold!!! It had not been heated. We asked the waitress to fix it but she seeemed uncertain about what to do. Finally she went into the kitchen and brought out a new bowl of hot minced pork to put over the cold pork and the warm rice. That dish was surprisingly soupy in not a good way! Later we ordered the durian tofu pudding from her and she went into the kitchen to make sure they had it. When she came out she indicated that it was available but that itβs COLD!!! Well of course it is!!! Generally we want our entrees hot and our desserts cold. Iβm assuming after we asked for a hot entree, everything we ordered weβd wanted it hot? I canβt believe that level of incompetence and ignorance!!! So service is not a hig
